Some Memories Never End…

Out of the five governors of the South South, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State is the biggest newsmaker. It’s not so much because Rivers is the second biggest producer of oil in the region as it is a factor of the politics of Wike’s rise to power.

The bitter rivalry between him and his former ally, former Governor Rotimi Amaechi, whose proxy, Dakuku Peterside, also contested the last governorship election went all the way up to the Supreme Court, where it was finally decided in Wike’s favour.

We put him on the spot for over two hours and each time Wike brought up his falling out with Amaechi and his perilous path to the Government House, he did so with anguish.  Some memories never end…

We’ve got something new for you in this edition, too. UK-based Olubunmi Ajayi-Layode, domestic violence survivor and a hit of Facebook, is starting a column in this edition.

Educationist, Prince Gbadebo Adeyeye and Vera Nwanze are also featured. Plus our regulars…

It’s another must read.
