Nigeria Records 156 New Cases Of COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday reported 156 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 54,743.

42,816 patients have however recovered and discharged from treatment centres, while 1,051 deaths have been recorded.

Lagos State leads the way with the number of confirmed cases. It now has 18,255 cases.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has 5,273 confirmed cases, Oyo State has a total of 3,168 cases, Plateau State has 2,710 and Edo with 2,594 rounds up the top five states with the most cases.

For the first in 10 days, Lagos State had the highest number of new cases with 36 infections.

The FCT had 35 new cases, Oyo State had 29, Kaduna State had 10, Abia State had nine, while Osun State, Ogun and Enugu states had five each.

In Rivers, there were four new cases, three each in Nasarawa, Ekiti and Imo states, two each in Edo, Kwara, Katsina and Plateau states, while Niger State had one new case.
