Lagos Oldest COVID-19 Patient, 98 Years Old Woman Recovers

Lagos State Government on Wednesday announced the recovery of a 98-year-old woman from COVID-19.

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who announced this in a tweet update on Wednesday, said the 98 year old woman was the state’s oldest patient and therefore, the oldest person to recover from the virus in a Lagos State isolation Centre.

He said other 25 patient were also discharged with the 98-year- old, bringing the total number of discharged patients in the state to 528.

Sanwo-Olu said, “Today, we discharged a 98 year old woman, our oldest #COVID19 patient in Lagos. She joined 25 others; 13 males and 12 females, discharged from our isolation centres after testing negative for #COVID19, bringing the total of our successfully managed and discharged patients to 528.”

He also urged the public to support the government by obeying public health guidelines.

“As our frontline health workers continue to sacrifice and push through, let us play our roles by following the public health guidelines, observing physical distancing and wearing our face masks”, Sanwo-Olu said.
