The son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Mohammed Atiku Abubakar, has debunked claims that he shook hands with Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, who also tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Shortly after Atiku Abubakar announced that his son had contracted the virus, Bauchi State governor’s spokesman, Mukhtar Gidado, had in a statement, said that his principal boarded the same flight and shook hands with Atiku’s son, leading to him to suspect that he had contracted the virus.
However, Mr. Abubakar, has said that he never shook hands with the governor, though they met on board an Aero Contractors aircraft, according to Premium Times.
The duo, accompanied by their wives, boarded the plane on March 18 at about 5:20 p.m from Lagos to Abuja.
But Mr. Abubakar said the governor sat on one side of the aisle, while he was on another side with his wife.
