Senator Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo State, was on Sunday arrested and detained by the Imo State police command.
The former governor was said to have been arrested on the orders of the Imo state government for
illegally unsealing and forcefully gaining entrance into his estate that had been recently sealed off by the state government.
However, the government which has washed its hands off the arrest stated that the police picked him up for taking laws into his hands.
Okorocha was said to have led armed thugs to break into the property of the state government, destroying security vehicles and other state government properties.
The former governor was detained at the state CID, was however not handcuffed.
The Imo State government had recently sealed off a large estate believed to be owned by the former governor, alleging that the former governor had acquired it with looted state funds.
