Police Commissioner Murdered In Cross River

His murder occurred along Murtala Muhammed highway in Calabar, an hour after midnight on Wednesday.

An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Egbe Edum, has been murdered in Calabar, Cross River State.

His murder, which has been confirmed by Irene Ugbo, police spokeswoman in Cross River occurred along Murtala Muhammed highway in Calabar, an hour after midnight on Wednesday.

According to Ugbo, the assistant commissioner was in the state to visit his family.

He was head of 73 police mobile force squadron in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The police public relations officer however said the murder was under investigation but suggested he was coming from Maiduguri and arrived the state at about 1am.

Ugbo said the murder weapon was a machete as the deceased suffered several cuts.
