Katsina To Commence COVID-19 Tests This Week

The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has said that Katsina State will start conducting COVID-19 tests in the state this week.

Masari, who disclosed this via his twitter page on Tuesday, said Katsina State had been sending samples for COVID-19 test to Abuja or Kano.

He stated that the state had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with for Sahel Medicare Service to commence test for COVID-19 in the state.

He said, “Through an MoU with Sahel Medicare Services ltd Katsina, #COVID19 tests will commence this week.”

Masari said Sahel laboratory had the capacity to test 270 samples in 24 hours and its commencement of COVID-19 test will save the state the stress of taking samples to Abuja or Kano for testing.

“The Sahel laboratory has the capacity to test 270 samples in 24 hours. This will definitely save us from the cumbersome procedure of taking samples to either Abuja or Kano for tests”, Masari said.

Katsina state has recorded 335 cases of COVID-19 according to Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
