Nigeria Loses 17 COVID-19 Patients In 24 Hours, Records 220 New Cases

The number of COVID-19 casualties in the country has climbed to 85 and confirmed cases now stand at 2,388.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported the deaths of 17 more persons to COVID-19 related complications.

The NCDC in its daily update at 11.55pm on Saturday also disclosed that 220 more persons had been confirmed to have contracted the disease.

The number of COVID-19 casualties in the country has climbed to 85 and confirmed cases now stand at 2,388.

The latest update saw Lagos taking back the lead from Kano – which was on top in the last two days – with 62 new cases and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following closely behind with 52 cases.

This is followed by Kaduna, Sokoto and Kebbi States with 31, 13 and 10 states, respectively. ‬

Yobe State, recorded nine cases, Borno State, six cases, Bauchi and Edo states, five cases each, while Gombe, Enugu and Oyo states recorded four cases each.

While ‬Zamfara had three cases, Nasarawa, Osun, Ebonyi, Kwara, Kano and Plateau states recorded two cases each.
