Nigeria’s COVID-19 Total Now 442 As Cases Increase In Kano

While Lagos is still the epicentre of the pandemic with 251 reported cases, Abuja now has 67, while Kano which had no recorded case just a week ago now has 21.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported the 13th death and 35 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The 35 new cases recorded yeaterday bring Nigeria’s total to 442.

Out of that number, 19 cases were recorded in Lagos but another five in Kano making it the state with third highest number of the Coronavirus, just days after it recorded its index case.

While Lagos is still the epicentre of the pandemic with 251 reported cases, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) now has 67, while Kano which had no recorded case just a week ago now has 21.

NCDC, in a tweet on Thursday said “35 new cases of #COVID19 cases have been reported as follows: 19 in Lagos, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano, 2 in Oyo. As at 10:20 pm 16th April, there are 442 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths.”

Osun, which was ahead of Kano in the number of recorded cases still has 20.

Edo has 15 cases of COVID-19.

Oyo has 13, Ogun has nine, Katsina seven, Bauchi, Kaduna and Akwa Ibom each have six.

Kwara and Delta have four each, while Ondo has three cases.

Enugu, Ekiti, Rivers and Niger each have two cases while Benue and Anambra have one each.
