Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Now 135

Lagos still has the highest number of cases standing at 81. The Federal Capital Territory has 25, while Oyo is the third hardest hit with eight cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, in its most recent update says cases of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country have now reached 35, with two reported deaths.

Four more cases, NCDC said were reported bringing the total to 135 as at 11:15am, March 31.

Out of the four new cases, there are three in Osun and one in Ogun.

NCDC posted the update in a tweet on Tuesday.

A day earlier, NCDC reported the highest number of new cases of 20.

Lagos still has the highest number of cases standing at 81. The Federal Capital Territory has 25, while Oyo is the third hardest hit with eight cases.

Osun now takes fourth place with five recorded cases.

Ogun is next with four recorded cases, then Kaduna with four. Edo, Enugu and Bauchi have two cases each. Ekiti, Rivers and Bauchi have a single case each.

Lagos, Abuja and Ogun have been placed on a 14-day lockdown by the federal government starting from 11pm, March 30. On Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Covid-19 Quarantine Regulations 2020′.

Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, said the president signed the regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Quarantine Act (CAP Q2 LFN 2004), and all powers enabling him in that behalf.
