Aisha Alhassan, Mama Taraba, Is Dead

Reports say that the former minister who has been out of circulation for some years now due to a protracted illness, died in Cairo, Egypt.

Hayiya Aisha Alhassan, a former minister of Women Affairs is dead.

Reports say that the former minister who has been out of circulation for some years now due to a protracted illness, died in Cairo, Egypt.

The Taraba State politician who is popularly known as Mama Taraba, was a staunch member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under which she contested the Taraba 2015 governorship election.

She however lost the election to incumbent Governor Darius Ishaku, who ran under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

President Buhari appointed her minister for Women Affairs in 2015, a position from which she resigned in 2018.

She later left APC for the United Democratic Party (UDP) after the ruling party failed to clear her for the 2019 gubernatorial election.
