The death toll from COVID-19 around the world has reached 1,002,561 according wordometer.com, while the number of confirmed cases is 33,322,731.

The United States of America has the highest number of deaths with 209,453 followed by India, which has 95,453 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday reported 126 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

58,324 cases have been confirmed in the country, 49,794 patients discharged and 1,108 deaths have been reported.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded the highest number cases with 30 infections, followed by Lagos State with 24 cases.

In Rivers State, there were 23 new cases, 13 in Ogun State, nine each in Katsina and Plateau states and six in Ondo State.

There were were four cases in Kaduna and Kwara states, two in Imo and one each in Bauchi and Edo states
