NCDC Reports 587 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Nigeria

A total of 469 persons are known to have died from the virus while 5,967 patients have however recovered and discharged from treatment centres.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 587 new cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 17,735.

The NCCDC in its Wednesday update on the outbreak of Coronavirus reported 14 more deaths.

A total of 469 persons are known to have died from the virus while 5,967 patients have however recovered and discharged from treatment centres.

Lagos State recorded the highest number of new infections with 155, followed by Edo State where there 75 new cases were reported.

In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 67 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded, while in Rivers State, the number was 65.

Oyo State had 56 new cases, Delta State had 50, Bayelsa State 25, Plateau and Kaduna states had 18 each while Enugu reported State 17 cases.

Borno and Ogun states had 12 cases each, Ondo State had seven, Kwara State had four, Kano and Gombe states had two each, while Sokoto and Kebbi states had one case each.
