Chief of Army Staff Briefs Buhari On North East Operations

Buratai, who has relocated to Borno State two months ago to supervise the activities of the Nigerian military against insurgency, reported that more than 1,400 terrorists had been killed, and 166 informants and couriers arrested.

The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, on Monday met with President Muhammad Buhari to brief the him on the operations of the army in north east.

Buratai, who has relocated to Borno State two months ago to supervise the activities of the Nigerian military against insurgency, reported that more than 1,400 terrorists had been killed, and 166 informants and couriers arrested, the presidency said via its official twitter.

“President @MBuhari today received a briefing from the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, at the State House.

“Two months ago the Chief of Army Staff relocated to Borno State to oversee a ramping up of anti-insurgency operations.

“He briefed the President today on the outcome so far. More than 1,400 terrorists killed, and 166 informants and couriers arrested. The operations continue”, presidency said.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, was also present at the meeting.
