The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), says it has conducted over 5000 COVID-19 tests in Nigeria
The NCDC, which disclosed this on Monday, via its official Twitter handle, noted that out of the over 5000 tests, 323 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.
The agency urged Nigerians to only accept and share information from approved heath authorities such as the ministry of health and the NCDC.
The tweet reads, “Our advice to #Nigerians firstly is to receive & share information only from official health authorities such as @Fmohnigeria, @NCDCgov.
“A total of 323 cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed out of over 5000 tests conducted in #Nigeria”
NCDC also reiterated that Chloroquine had not been approved for treatment of coronavirus and that drinking salt, ginger or garlic water does not protect one from contracting the virus
NCDC said, “Chloroquine is not yet approved for treatment of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Drinking salt, ginger or garlic water does not prevent #COVID19”.
