TIME 100 Next 2019: Obama Commends Nigerian Oluwaseun Osowobi

Barack Obama commends Nigerian Oluwaseun Osowobi who made the 2019 TIME 100 Next list in the Advocates category.

Former American President, Barack Obama Wednesday has commended the listing of Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi on the 2019 TIME 100 Next list.

Oluwaseun, who is an Obama Foundation leader, is the Executive Director of Stand To End Rape (STER), a youth-led organisation advancing advocacy towards ending gender based violence and providing support to survivors of sexual violence in Nigeria.

Reacting to 2019 TIME 100 Next List in a tweet, Obama said he was proud to see Oluwaseun on the list and that her work represents what the foundation stands for.

“Proud to see Oluwaseun @AyodejiOsowobi in this list. She’s an @ObamaFoundation Leader who’s organising young people in Nigeria to help end sexual violence, and her work embodies what our foundation is all about: passing the baton to the next generation, Obama tweeted.

Oluwaseun made 2019 TIME 100 Next List for her advocacy against gender based violence in Nigeria.

“Stand to End Rape (STER) has reached around 200,000 people across the country through its services, such as training for health workers and counseling for survivors”, TIME reported.
