Professor Oyedamola Named LASU Acting VC

A petition had been written against the selection process for the 18 professors seeking to be the institution’s Vice Chancellor, leading to the cancellation by the governor.

Professor Oyedamola Oke, a Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University has been appointed the acting Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The Senate of LASU made the appointment at an emergency meeting on Monday.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had cancelled the selection process for the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Oke replaces Olanrewaju Fagbohun, whose tenure expired on January 11.

Governor Sanwo-Olu had also directed Fagbohun to convene an emergency senate meeting for the purpose of appointing one of the deputy vice-chancellors as acting VC.
