Nigeria Records 216 New Cases Of COVID-19

Plateau State, for the ninth day, reported the highest number of new cases with 59 infections.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday reported 216 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country and four more deaths.

429 more patients were also discharged from treatment centres, bringing the total number of discharged patients to 42,439.

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 54,463 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease and 1,027 deaths.

Plateau State, for the ninth day, reported the highest number of new cases with 59 infections.

It was followed by Rivers State, which had 27 cases.

Abia State reported 22 new cases, while Lagos State had 20. Oyo State reported 18, Enugu State had 17, Kaduna and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had 11 each, while Ogun State had 10.

Ebonyi, Osun and Ekiti states had four each, Delta and Edo states had three each, Akwa Ibom State had two, while Bauchi State had one new case.
