Nigeria Records 10 More Deaths From COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday reported 10 new deaths due to COVID-19, just one day after reporting not a single fatality.

The total number of deaths in the country has now climbed closer to the 1,000 mark at 966.

The NCDC update also reported 373 new cases of the coronavirus disease taking the number of confirmed cases to 48,116, while a total 34,309 oantients have so far recovered and discharged.

Lagos State recorded the highest number of new cases of 69 infections, followed by Osun, which reported 41. Kaduna and Oyo each had 40 new cases.

In the Federal Capital Teritory (FCT), there were 35 new infections, 22 in Plateau State, 19 in Rivers State, 17 each Kano and Ondo states, 15 in Ogun State, 14 in Abia State and 12 in Gombe State.

Imo State reported nine new infections, seven were recorded in Enugu State, six in Kwara State, five in Delta State, two in Niger State, and one each in Borno, Bauchi and Nasarawa states.
