The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday reported 423 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 47,290.

The NCDC also announced six more deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic. A total 956 Nigerians have now died from COVID-19.

Lagos State reported the highest number of new cases, recording 117.

It was followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which had 40. Ondo State followed with 35 new infections.

In Rivers State, there were 28 new cases, 24 in Osun State, 21 in Benue State, 19 each in Abia and Ogun states, 18 in Ebonyi State and 17 each in Delta and Kwara states.

The were 15 new cases in Kaduna State, 14 in Anambra State, 11 in Ekiti State, nine in Kano State, six in Imo State, four in Gombe State, three each in Oyo and Taraba states, and one each in Bauchi, Edo and Nasarawa states.
