Justice Dahiru Saleh, a former Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who annulled the June 12 1993 presidential election is dead.

He died on Thursday May 7, in Azare, Bauchi State.

Justice Saleh had suffered a stroke one day earlier before being rushed to the hospital.

The late judge served as the Chief Judge of FCT between 1984 and 2003.

He played a key role in setting up the judicial structure in the FCT.

Saleh was also known to ordered the release of Mohammed Abacha, son late dictator Sani Abacha from detention during Olusegun Obasanjo’s presidency.

A petition was later written against with him to the National Judicial Council recommending his removal from office.

The senate voted to remove him in February 2003.
