Following reports that Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State have tested positive to coronavirus, at least two more governors and the director-general of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Asishana Okauru, have gone into self-quarantine and are getting tested.
Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi and his counterpart in Edo, Godwin Obaseki have both admitted to taking part in meetings with the Bauchi governor and also meeting Abba Kyari.
The Interview had reported that Governor Fayemi had in a tweet on Wednesday even urged his remaining colleagues to get tested for coronavirus, which they are either ignoring or are keeping the public in the dark, and effecting ignoring the threat they pose to those around them.
Governor Obaseki’s special adviser on media, Crusoe Osagie, has also in a statement said that the governor had gone into self-quarantine after attending the NGF meeting and the National Economic Council meeting headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Obaseki, the statement said, also visited Abba Kyari and has gone into self-isolation but showing no symptoms.
Meanwhile Vice President Osinbajo has reportedly tested negative to coronavirus but remains in self-isolation according to information from his media aide, Laolu Akande.
