Nigeria Now Has 35 Cases COVID-19

Confirmed cases of Coronavirus have rises to 35 according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, with Lagos recording the highest number of 24 known cases.

NCDC on Monday said on Twitter that five new cases had been confirmed in Lagos with two cases, Abuja also with two new cases and Edo with one case.

The tweet read, “Two cases are returning travelers from the United Kingdom. As of 9.45 am on 23rd of March,M there are 35 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Two have been discharged.

On Sunday, NCDC said there were four confirmed cases in the Federal Capital Territory, two in Ogun, and one each in Oyo and Ekiti states.

NCDC said three new cases were confirmed in Lagos, two of which of were travelers who returned to the country, while one was a contact of a previously confirmed case.

This is just as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated in a tweet that one of his sons has tested positive for Coronavirus.

He wrote, “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real.”
