Buhari Names Adamu, CBN Deputy Gov. AS New AMCON Chair

President Buhari Nominates CBN deputy governor, Edward Adamu, as the new chairman of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

President Buhari has written to the Senate, seeking for the screening and confirmation of Edward Adamu as Chairman, Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON.

The letter dated December 9, 2019, reads: “In accordance with Section 10(1) of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Act, 2010, I hereby present Mr. Edward Lametek Adamu for confirmation as Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria by the Distinguished Senate.

Edward Lametek Adamu is a quantity surveyor, business consultant and leadership strategist.

He’s been the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, since February 1, 2018.

Adamu, who was born June 22, 1959 is from Kaltungo, Gombe State, Nigeria, and will replace Muiz Banire, who was appointed AMCON chair in July 2018.
