Salihu, one of Nigeria’s youngest Ph.D. holders, graduated with a first-class honours degree in information technology from the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus. He had his master’s and Ph.D. at age 25, making him the youngest Ph.D. holder in northern Nigeria.
Spurred by the passion to share knowledge and to impact directly his immediate environment, Salihu chose pursue a career in academics, returning to work as a lecturer at the American University of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa State, one of the north east states worst hit by the Boko Haram crisis.
Salihu’s giant strides have not gone unnoticed. He won ‘The Future Awards Africa Prize for Professional Service’ in 2016
