The President of Dangote Group and Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has commended The Interview magazine on its first anniversary.

In a message to the magazine, Dangote said, “I am very proud of your achievements and wish you well in the years ahead.”

Dangote has joined the growing list of prominent persons sending goodwill messages to The Interview. On Tuesday, the Chairman of LEADERSHIP and former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, also commended the magazine for its journalistic mark.

Dangote’s dogged and courageous start-up story, building a net worth of over $12billion from a personal loan of N500,000, has inspired a number of start-ups.

In a statement issued by The Interview last week, the MD/Editor-In-Chief, Mr. Azu Ishiekwene, said the presentation of the magazine will marked with the first annual public lecture, entitled, Why Start-ups Fail And Strategies To Save Them.

“The lecture,” he said, “is designed to address one of the most topical and troubling issues of our time – how to create and sustain private-sector driven jobs.”

Ishiekwene said, “We have invited a broad range of stakeholders from Nigeria and other economic engine rooms across the continent – including entrepreneurs, investors and regulators – to share their experiences and provide practical solutions. We’ll be sharing ideas about things that have worked and failed and also providing insights that businesses can use.”

The statement said the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has accepted to be the Special Guest Of Honour, while South Africa’s leading publisher and CEO of The Mail and Guardian, Mr. Trevor Ncube, will be the Guest Speaker.

Other speakers will be the MD/CEO of RainOil, Mr. Gabriel Ogbechie and the Chairman and Founder of the Mike Omotosho Foundation, Dr. Mike Omotosho.

The chairman of the occasion is the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, while the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari, is the chief presenter.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is the chief host.

The event will open with a Red Carpet at Yar’Adua Centre at 9am.
