President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Bashir Jamoh to replace Dakuku Peterside as the director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
Peterside, who was appointed by the president in 2016 will complete his four-year tenure on March 10, 2020.
Presently, Jamoh, 56, is the executive director of administration and finance at NIMASA and joined the agency in 2003 as an assistant chief commercial officer.
He has 32 years of professional experience in the transportation and maritime sector.
Jamoh, an indigene of Kaduna, has a PhD in logistics and transport management from the University of Port Harcourt and a Master’s degree in management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University.
He also has a post graduate diploma in management sciences from Bayero University, Kano and a diploma in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He is the current president of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria.
