Ayobami Adebayo: An Amazing Storyteller

Ayobami Adebayo, listed by the Financial Times as one of the bright stars of Nigerian literature in 2015, is an award winning writer whose story greatly encourages girl child education.

She has not only earned global recognition as an exceptional storyteller,  her works has also  been reviewed in several publications such as Vogue, Guardian UK, The New York Times, Guardian Life, The Financial Times, Essence, Chicago Tribune, and The Wall Street Journal.

One of her works was highly commended in the 2009 Commonwealth short story competition and in 2017 her debut novel titled; Stay With Me, was shortlisted for the 2017 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.  She also won The Future Awards Africa Prize for Arts & Culture 2017.

There is no doubt she has carved a niche for herself as storyteller whose novel has been translated into German, Swedish, Italian, Polish, Turkish and Hebrew.
