Falana, Too ‘Dangerous’ To Be Minister

The interview frontpage

You may have heard that despite vigorous representations by Vice President YemiOsinbajo, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana was not appointed minister because of “irreconcilable differences.” That is true. It is also true that when Osinbajo persisted, he was asked, “What is special about Falana? After all, Malami is also a SAN.” But what you may not have heard is that those who didn’t want Falana to get the job feared they might not be able to control him. “There are areas they may not want him to go into,” a source told IC. “But you know Falana, if they impose any no-go areas, especially in the war against corruption, he will go public. They can’t handle him.” There you have it – irreconcilable differences!
