Maina is on trial for money laundering and misappropriation of billions of naira in pension funds and is presumed to have jumped bail. His whereabouts is unknown and has failed to appear at his trial since he was granted bail.
Ndume, who stood as surety was subsequently asked to produce Maina in court.
His failure to do so led to the ruling on Monday remanding him in Kuje Correctional Centre.
