Terrorists Have Relocated To Nasarawa – Governor Sule

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said Boko Haram elements who had previously been dislodged from Niger have relocated to Nasarawa and are attacking residents.

The governor who was at the presidential villa said he was there to brief the president on the security situation in state, telling journalists that dislodged terrorists have regrouped at the Nasarawa/Benue border.

He said the terrorists belonged to the Darussalam group that had been dislodged from Niger State after security operations, which led to the killing of some of them and arrest of 900 members of the group.

The governor said the arrested terrorists had confirmed they were part of the Darussalam group.

Govenor Sule said he had sought the intervention of President Buhari on the possibility of the federal government taking over of Jitata road, which serves as an alternative route from the state to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
