Buhari Appoints Media Aide, Lauretta Onochie As INEC Commissioner

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Lauretta Onochie, as a national commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Onochie, representing Delta State is the president’s Special Assistant on Social Media.

Other commissioners appointed by the president include Mohammed Sani for Katsina, Kunle Ajayi for Ekiti and Seidu Ahmed for Jigawa.

In a letter to the Senate, the president asked the upper house of parliament to confirm all four for appointment.

The letter was read by the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.
