The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced 409 new cases of covid-19 in country with cases reaching new heights in both Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) where there 201 and 85 cases respectively.
In the last two days more than 1,000 cases have been reported in the country and 482 of those cases were recorded in Lagos State and the FCT.
The total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria has now risen to 13,873 with 382 deaths and 4,351 patients discharged.
Like Lagos, which now has 6,266 confirmed cases, the FCT and Kano have also reached the 1,000 mark with 1,097 and 1,025 cases respectively.
The number of states where new cases were reported however dropped from 26 in the previous day to the 16 reported on Wednesday.
Delta State had the highest number of new cases after Lagos State and the FCT with 22 cases.
Edo State had 16 cases, while Nasarawa, Borno and Kaduna states all reported 14 new cases each.
In Bauchi State there were 10 cases, nine in Rivers State, five each in Enugu and Kano states, four each in Ogun and Ondo states, while Bayelsa, Kebbi and Plateau all had two cases each.
