Twitter Founder, Jack Dorsey To Donate $1bn For Global COVID-19 Relief

Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey, has pledged to donate $1billion to fund global COVID-19 relief.

Jack, whose net worth is about $3.9 billion according to Blomberg, made this statement via his official twitter handle.

He said 28 per cent of his wealth would be devoted to providing relief for COVID-19 pandemic.

Jack said, “I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief.”

Jack also said after the pandemic, he would focus on funding girl child education and Universal Basic Income (UBI).

“After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here,” he said

He said he took the decision because ” the needs are increasingly urgent, and I want to see the impact in my lifetime. I hope this inspires others to do something similar. Life is too short, so let’s do everything we can today to help people now.”
