Governor Seyi Makinde Tests Postive For COVID-19

The Oyo State Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde, has announced that he tested positive to COVID-19.

Makinde who sent out the message via twitter on Monday evening said he had designated Proffesor Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, to henceforth head the state’s COVID-19 Task Force while he recovers.

The governor tweeted, “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,” Makinde tweeted on Monday evening.

“I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, according the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)’s last update is 111 with two recorded deaths
