Nigeria Records 14 New Coronavirus Cases In Hours, Total Now 65

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced the confirmation of 14 new coronavirus cases in Lagos and Abuja, the largest single day increase since the first case, bringing the total number of recorded cases in Nigeria to 65.

In a tweet on Thursday, NCDC said three people had now been discharged after overcoming the virus.

Just a day earlier, NCDC confirmed only five more cases with the total number standing at 51.

The 14 new cases represent close to 30% increase from the previous day.

Two of the 14 new cases were detected on a vessel, three were returning travelers and one was a contact of a confirmed case.

Lagos now has a total of 44 cases, FCT has 12, Ogun’s confirmed cases stand at three while Ekiti, Oyo, Edo, Bauchi, Osun and Rivers have one each.
