Ortom Wins At Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Tuesday affirmed the election of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

Ortom, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), victory in the election held on March 9, 2019 was challenged to the apex court by his main rival in the election, Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, the Supreme Court which dismissed Jime’s appeal on Tuesday, in a unanimous judgment held that the corresponding decisions of the Benue State Governorship Election Petition and the Court of Appeal, “Ought not to be disturbed.”
