A former American Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has been appointed as chancellor by Queens University, Belfast, United Kingdom.
The University announced Mrs. Clinton’s five-year appointment which took effect from January 1 on its website.
Mrs. Clinton, who received an honorary doctorate from Queen’s in 2018, will be the first female and 11th Chancellor of Queen’s University.
Reacting to her appointment on Twitter, Mrs. Clinton said she was proud to be an ambassador of the university.
She said, “It’s my great privilege to become @QUBelfast’s 11th—and first female—chancellor. It’s a place I have great fondness for and have grown a strong relationship with over the years, and I’m proud to be an ambassador for its excellence.”
