The Feud Within

While the country is riveted on the so-called quit notice by Arewa youths for Igbos to leave the north by October 1, we picked up a lead that all was not well inside the ‘House of Biafra’ and decided to follow up.

In sociological terms, Ralph Uwazurike may be described as the heir apparent to Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu in the modern struggle for Biafra. He started the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in 1999 and has lately moved on to the Biafra Independence Movement, which he founded.

But Uwazurike appears to have faded to the shadows. The leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, seems to have upstaged him, amassing a cult following.

In this edition, Uwazurike shares intimate secrets about Kanu with us and also reveals where things fell apart.

We are also featuring Mike Ozekhome, SAN, Furera Isma Jumare, whose project, Positive Voices Campaign Project, is building role models for youths in northern Nigeria, and Olubunmi Ajai Layode, a domestic violence survivor working hard to help women who find themselves in violent relationships.

Our regulars are all on the menu, so enjoy…
