The Bell Tolls For ‘Form A’

Words filtering out of the meeting between Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele and IMF boss, Christine Lagarde, suggest that tougher times await parents whose children are in school abroad. We gathered, authoritatively, that banks have been directed to stop allowing parents to remit housing and upkeep allowances through the ‘Form A’ window. They are now to allow only tuition to be paid after verification. And that’s only a first step. Insiders told Interview Confidential that very soon, even tuition through ‘Form A’ might be stopped altogether. And insider said the CBN has taken the view that those who decide send their children abroad to school should source the fees from the parallel market. Watch this space for more.
